A revised academic calendar, which will be effective in the fall of 2025, focuses on student academic preparedness and promotes health and well-being.

CU СÀ¶ÊÓƵ along with 16 universities in Colorado and Wyoming will move to a contract extension with Elsevier, an academic publisher, that will ensure access to journals while yearlong negotiations continue over costs of a new multi-year read access contract.
A new council, chaired by Patrick O’Rourke, will be charged with leading overarching campus sustainability implementation efforts, including driving action, transparency and accountability around CU СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s carbon neutrality commitments and the forthcoming campus Climate Action Plan.
Wrapping up the semester, Provost Russell Moore outlined his 2023–24 priorities for the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Faculty Assembly. Four resolutions were passed, including one supporting prioritizing climate change and sustainability actions and one supporting Israeli and Palestinian communities impacted by the war.
Under two newly approved policies and a new state provision, CU СÀ¶ÊÓƵ faculty members who specialize in teaching will have new teaching professor titles. Additionally, a five-year contract is now the maximum multi-year appointment for specialized faculty on the teaching and clinical tracks.
The process for integrating the Program in Environmental Design and the College of Media, Communication and Information is underway, with full integration expected to take several years to complete.
Regents approved a pair of action items aimed at advancing objectives of the CU СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Campus Master Plan related to increasing housing options for students, faculty and staff. Read about this and other items from the board’s Nov. 7–8 meeting.
